Canine Training at Hawsmoor Hydrotherapy

Last week we went to Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy Centre for a day of Canine Technician training with four members of our existing team. We were welcomed at Hawksmoor with a fantastic screening environment and facilities available for stress testing the patients we had booked in for the day. We had a wide range of dogs available to us for the day from a Golden Retriever to a Miniature Dachshund, each dogs presented us with a new challenge whilst screening which was perfect for us to practice on. The most interesting case of the day was also the smallest, Dita a 2yr old Miniature Dachshund who had lost the use of all four legs in January 2015 due to a spinal cyst, she is on the mend slowly and regularly attends the Hydrotherapy unit. The was a particularly difficult case for us to screen firstly due to her size but also as she couldn't stand on her own for periods of time let alone in the ideal position for screening so this taught us to be very quick with our imaging but also proved how important Thermology is as a diagnostic tool but also the right environment is key for this.

We had a great day and definitely learn't a lot about canine screening and look forward to expanding SyncCanine!
